Since Starwood Capital purchased Mammoth Mountain the town of Mammoth Lakes is growing without an affordable place for the people who service the community to live.  This is a very real and immediate problem and is a priority topic in all recent city planning meetings.  Currently Starwood is housing and busing employees up from Bishop, they are also in the midst talks regarding the development of housing in Hammil Valley and Chalfant Valley; both of which are farther from Mammoth then Benton.  More and more people are looking to Benton as a location for affordable employee housing.  We hope to address this housing shortage with our project.
